Back Up

Back Up ft Grim Sickers from drum n'bass trio Cliques is a Brighton music video shot/light/cut by me and filmed at The Old Market on the hottest day of the year. We only had a few hours in the theatre to shoot the trio, the rapper Grim Sickers, the fire performer Lily Fortune and the contortionst Twisted Nymph. The theatre's lighting tech Dan Walker was going up and down the ladders all day moving the lights around.

Atittude Magazine Awards

I was backstage editing a quick turn around for red carpet & speeches on the night and this is the highlights video I made a few days later after the glitter had died down.

LGBTQ+ stars and allies including Tom Daley, Billy Porter and Bimini Bon Boulash descended on London's iconic Camden Roundhouse on Wednesday 6 October for the biggest queer night of the year: The 2021 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar.

Performing live on stage were West End legend Elaine Paige and Drag Race UK superstar Bimini as well as Steps, who closed the show with a four-song set which included all-time pop greats 'Tragedy' and 'One for Sorrow'.

REDBULL

Itโ€™s been said that Red Bull Racingโ€™s Daniel Ricciardo is a model Formula One driver, so Sheep Filmsย took that literally in this miniature guide to the Canadian Grand Prix.

I spent a day at Red Bull HQ in Milton Keynes lighting the green screen and Danielโ€™s live action part, we were lucky enough to light the main floor where the expensive cars wereย the stars. Daytime drew to a close and Daniel arrived, we only had a 1 hour slot to film everything in, for the Canadian track and others. He learnt his lines, was a lovely chap and here is one of the videos.

TOWER OF LONDON

HM Tower of London is one of the UKโ€™s top tourist attractions, and the White Tower is the oldest and most iconic building within the grounds, so there is no surprise it is full of visitors till closing time every day. This leaves us with a short turnaround time to change the venue from daytime exhibition, to stunning evening event space for dinners or receptions.

In 1hr 12,000+ photos, 7 cameras, 4 operators, 20 minute set-up in-between the public leaving the Tower of London and the outside contractors turning the White Tower into a spectacular evening event space. The Tower of London asked GilRei Video to create a timelapse video of this intense set-up period. I headed up the camera crew, shot some of the live footage and graded the RAW photos which James Tucker then made into this great video.
We used 5Dmk3 & mk2 in the two halls, B-Cams were the mk1 and a GoPro

Urban Framing is an experimental documentary; a building plays the main character and narrator. The story is an unspoken conversation with the urban context. This provides the audience with a new cinematic experience to look at architecture and the city in a different manner.

ROSIE & RIVETTE

An excerpt of Rosie & Rivette, Vito Maraula's first short film as director, follows Rosie Cunningham as she aimlessly wanders the city of London, has a singing lesson and is abducted by an unnamed man. She half heartedly resists his attempts to seduce her but finally gives in when he takes her to see a Jacques Rivette film at the cinema. Rosie & Rivette is a work that asks what it is to make a truthful piece of cinema in a world where the image holds so much weight of the past.
