Attitude Awards – Video Editor

I was backstage editing a quick turn around for red carpet & speeches on the night and this is the highlights video I made a few days later after the glitter had died down. LGBTQI+ stars and allies including Tom Daley, Billy Porter and Bimini Bon Boulash descended on London’s iconic Camden Roundhouse on Wednesday 6 October for the biggest queer night of the year: The 2021 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar. Performing live on stage were West […]

Inkfish – Corporate Headshot

Inkfish Capital wanted some creative headshot photography of their CEO in line with their social impact brand. We spent a fun time at Hove beach huts, with the locals spending time talking with us. Inkfish are property specialists who create social impact housing schemes to help the most vulnerable in society. They are primarily focused on schemes that move people from larger care facilities into their own community-based homes. Studio Gobo & Electric Square Summer Party- Brighton Event Photography by Photographer Emma Bailey

Studio Gobo & Electric Square – Event Photography

Studio Gobo and Electric Square held their summer party at Mac’s Farm, their event photography was so much fun to capture. For these fun events, the Canon 16-35mm f2.8 ii adds a lot of dynamic storytelling to the photos, I used the 70-200 f4 to grab some ninja shots when people know that a photographer isn’t too near them. Emily-Pocock-Brighton Musician photography by Photographer Emma Bailey with smoke and fabric

Emily Pocock

I used a smoke machine and fabric on this recent collaboration with Emily Pocock, a young Brighton musician, to create atmospheric imagery for her music. Emily also has trained in dance, which added great movement to the shoot. I made a playist of music she liked in advance, so she had a good atmosphere to work with. I used 2 x Arri 800w as backlights and placed the smoke machine in the middle. Occasionally using a 3xAstra LED light above […]

Dark Rust-Brighton Musician UV Photography by Photographer Emma Bailey

Dark Rust

Dark Rust is a minimal, darkwave musician who needed atmospheric photography to reflect his style of music. I used UV lighting, paint and tape in the studio to evoke the feeling of his music. I used 2x UV LED Blacklights, one above the camera light the keyboard, the other behind the musician, backlighting the smoke. The LED’s were only 36W, they gave a great affect but were still low light so I used a high ISO, low F-stop, the camera […]

Third circle recordings-brighton property photography by photographer Emma Bailey

Third Circle Recordings

I photographed the colourful delight that is James Gasson’s refurbed Third Circle Recordings, a music recording/rehearsal studio in Brighton. The property photography took 4hrs+ to capture the various lighting set ups and the composites. The wide shots were photographed with a 16mm at f8 400 ISO, with various shutter speeds to accommodate the practical tungsten bulbs that were there. The remit was designed mostly around the colourful LED’s which he had painstakingly built into the rehearsal room ceiling. I took […]

Yamee - Brighton Caribbean Food Photography by Photographer Emma Bailey -0055

Yamee – Caribbean Food

Yamee is Brighton’s latest offering on the foodie scene. Their Caribbean food photography had to look as delicious and fresh as it tasted, so I shot downstairs in the Coopers Cask pub in Hove whilst they prepared the food in the upstairs kitchen. Shooting near their kitchen gave us the ability to change the food to suit the lighting and look when under the lights, so it looked the best on the website. Yamee is the baby of Anthony Ayton […]

Behind The Mask – capturing portraits of healthcare workers

2020 Vision Project is a collective of UK portrait photographers who created a visual and historic tribute to nationwide healthcare workers. With visual stories from each photographer, we reflected dedication, resilience, teamwork and extraordinary patient care, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Each photographer shared their skills to capture portraits of the person, behind the mask to express the human story. Each healthcare worker was photographed outside of healthcare environments across the UK. The effect on care homes during the pandemic was […]

Brighton Cineworld – Property Photography

During the Covid-19 lockdown Brighton Cineworld underwent a transformation and PR company HK Strategies asked me to document the refurbishment. The photography of the cinema was easy and a joy to capture, the new brand identity was slick and as a photographer who loves watching films and property photography – this was the perfect job for me, I was in my element. All interior shots were on a tripod and using a 16mm wide angle lens. The cinema screens had […]
