    Safe Space Sussex App

Police & Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne launched a new app called ‘Safe Space Sussex’, aimed at helping people should they feel unsafe outside of their home. TM Studios hired me to video the POV in Brighton.

Users will be directed by a map showing their location and a number of red pins indicating Safe Spaces near them. On arrival, the staff will offer them somewhere to wait and offer to call 999, 101 or a contact of their choice. It has been developed following detailed consultation with partners and the public regarding the safety of women and girls in Sussex.

This was a carefully planned day shoot, written, produced and directed by TM Studios

To achieve the pov shot, we attached a Canon R5 to a Kryten Helmet, I wore this rig for most of the day and had to be led around the streets of Brighton looking like a Dalek. To balance the front weight of the rig, we attached V-lock batteries on the back. For focus I had to use the auto-focus of the Camera and guide it with my camera moves.

For the walking shots, I used my RSC2 gimbal and my Canon R5 and lens. The Kryten was set with the director's equipment, as we had a short time to film and it was light dependent, we went quickly between the two kits.
