Before winter set in, I photographed Taylor Lally, a musician and singer from Northern Ireland, who is studying in Brighton. We spent a cold, but sunny afternoon in the woods at Friston Forrest, creating imagery for her upcoming gigs. Taylors ethereal beauty was at home in the natural surroundings, which matched her unprocessed music and visual style.
I shot most of this on an 85mm f1.8 sometimes wide open, using the softness as an advantage. Moving around the forest we worked with the low winter sun, which was the only light sourced, I used it as a soft backlight on her hair and played with flaring the unhooded lens. Flares were brought out even more with post-processing.
