Brandwatch conducts market research and analyse their clients’ online presence among competitors. They asked me to photograph some of their employees for a recruitment drive, along side reasons why they enjoy the company so much. I spent a morning in their offices, having a chilled informal session with them.
Haybury asked me to capture all their staff’s headshot photography at their Brighton offices. Over three days I photographed their diverse organisation, in different areas and weather conditions for a rebrand of their website. As a people oriented company, they wanted to veer away from the typical corporate on white headshot and showcase their top floor offices in International House, to encompass the relaxed atmosphere that they operate in. Haybury is an Executive Search Consultancy. They focus solely within Life Sciences, locally […]
Kenny Knight is a stuntman, actor and choreographer, we spent a cold December day photographing him and his bike on Brighton seafront. This was my last shoot of 2021 and it was a pretty cool way to end the year. The bike photo had some heavy editing to remove people, cars and traffic lights. The actors headshot was simple natural light, not even a reflecter was needed as I wanted to promote his edge. Camera: Canon R5 Bike: Godox AD600Pro […]
2020 Vision Project is a collective of UK portrait photographers who created a visual and historic tribute to nationwide healthcare workers. With visual stories from each photographer, we reflected dedication, resilience, teamwork and extraordinary patient care, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Each photographer shared their skills to capture portraits of the person, behind the mask to express the human story. Each healthcare worker was photographed outside of healthcare environments across the UK. The effect on care homes during the pandemic was […]
Before winter set in, I photographed Taylor Lally, a musician and singer from Northern Ireland, who is studying in Brighton. We spent a cold, but sunny afternoon in the woods at Friston Forrest, creating imagery for her upcoming gigs. Taylors ethereal beauty was at home in the natural surroundings, which matched her unprocessed music and visual style. I shot most of this on an 85mm f1.8 sometimes wide open, using the softness as an advantage. Moving around the forest we […]
NCRQ is an online health & safety learning company who asked me to photograph Lisa, a recent graduate, for a corporate case study. The shoot was Lisa going about her daily role in a pharmaceutical warehouse, with mixed to murky lighting and in their laboratory which was bright, but had limited space. These restrictions do not allow for large lights with cables, so I chose to go mobile. I used a speedlight flash with a small lastolite brolly grip and […]
Lava Elastic a neurodivergent performance night is the UK’s first. Brought to you by neurodivergent performer Sarah Saeed, who has performed as operatic comedy diva Marianna Harlotta and a member of autistic performance company Stealth Aspies. Sarah wanted new promo material to imitate what the night looks and more importantly feels like. Inspired from her source material, which was based around using a variety of lights in the show, we created this shoot using light painting, coloured backdrops and gels. […]
In the midst of a hot and hazy Brighton summer, Slurring Words Theatre Company have performed Shakespeare’s ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in the gardens at Stanmer House. This magical play was a joy to photograph the production stills for. The material and characters are accessible and sumptuous. The actors a pleasure to work with when documenting one evening before a dress rehearsal. Photographing around sunset delivers a soft, direct light which is magical, as long as you move quickly, the window […]
Charlie Mizon is one of those dark comedians whose audiences are full of nervous laughter, too scared to laugh, uncomfortable, close to the bone. His subject matters are depression, failure and suicide, ideal subject matter for comedy. Ideal subject for portrait photography. Charlie has a one man stand up show inhabited by many characters, we photographed each of them. No costume changes, just a few props. There is the Chef Preston Blumenthal, the priest is Pastor Ted Bear and the […]
